Since this is the third Donna Partow study I have now done, I knew this would be coming!!!!
This is the week we talk about our "Eating Habits". Let me just say right off the bat - OUCH!!!! OK, OK I am not the world's best eater. I love chocolate (which I have given up to some* degree), I love ice cream and cookies and well...fruits and vegetables, not so much!!!! So this week, when she is gonna be talking about our eating habits it's makes me want to run and hide (do you think anyone would find me in my pantry?).
I did learn back in my first study with Donna, that I just can't do it all!! I would love to and my hat is off to anyone who follows her suggestions to a tee, but a '10 day diet of veges and water' (tomorrow's lesson), not sure that is a realistic goal for me.
This is a tough area for me and I certainly do not want to lead anyone a stray here and I certainly don't want to hear any of you saying, "well, Nola said...", I'm just trying to be honest. So I think I will take it in moderation and give up soda for 10 days. OK, not nearly the sacrifice as veges and water, but I think it can be just as pleasing to the Lord.
So there you have it. You have made it to week three, so hang in there!! She will be talking about some things that we can do this week that will contribute to our over all health (yes, things that I have implemented into my routine from her previous studies) that are simple and a little easy to swallow (pardon the pun). Remember Baby steps!!!!
Today's Tip ~
Who are you kidding? Tips from a Chocoholic, it ain't gonna happen!!!!
Have a blessed day and hang in there!!!!

*I haven't had a piece of chocolate candy in over three months.

well, what a day to start ladies. for someone who will eat anything that doesn't eat her first should be interesting. one good thing about only buying absolutely what you need for a couple days at a time due to budget cuts is that i really didn't have to do much with my pantry. praise God!!!!!! anyway may our Heavenly PaPa be with of all for this weeks study. well i gotta hit the highway, got some doctors appointments in the valley for the boys. talk ta ya all later. looking forward to this study with ya all.

Welcome Missy!!!!
I know that Donna mentioned throwing out anything that hasn't been used or will not be used, and I got to thinking, Why not donate those items(of course with valid expirations dates)to the hunger defense program. Not only will you be helping yourself and your family, but you would be helping someone in our community. Just a thought.....
Great Idea Karin, after all we are to be good stewards!
This is a major issue for me, I always struggle with eating too much and not the right things. I've been dieting for 2 weeks but this afternoon I ate something off of the diet. Back in the saddle immediately! Any tips/tricks on how to do better in this area would be greatly appreciated!
I love those commercials where moms declare themselves the boss of their kitchens, that they determine what is good for the family. Fundamentally, that is so true. I need to get tough and become one of those moms.

At least I was warned about this before I started reading it........just think how much I will be able to donate to the food pantry.

The one thing that helps keep a pantry to the good for you, and needed items is a tight budget. Okay I'm going to admit that I'm not the typical girl. I don't like chocolate, Ice Cream or a lot of sweets so with a tight budget for food this helps me. Plus when I do get the urge, I ask myself one question "Do I really need this?" It works for food and buying other things. If you have to justify it then it makes it less appealing. Well, at least to me.
