Day 12

OK, I admit it, I’m a morning person, so today’s lesson did not sting me as much as it may you night owls, but even you night owls have got to love the picture she painted of the devil yelling “Oh no, she’s up”. I do enjoy the thought that whenever we are pleasing the Lord, we are tickin off the devil.

Years ago, after praying about what time the Lord wanted me to get up for our TAG and He challenged me to get up at 5:00 (morning person or not), I wanted to say “you gotta be kidding!”. Since I had asked what time He wanted me to get up, I took it a step further and asked him to wake me up and He did!!

Today’s Tip~

Be Bold!!!!

Remember, you are are talking the Lord of the Universe. If He can and has created us in His image, I'm pretty sure giving us a gentle wake up nudge is a piece a cake of for Him. So boldly ask Him to wake you in the morning and give you energy for your day and then hit the ground running!

Gotta go rattled the enemy and get my day moving~

I'm a morning girl too. My day usually starts around 5:30, and I can't tell you how much nicer it is to wake up naturally rather than with something buzzing loudly in your ear. That alarm thing just jolts every nerve in my body. However I am guilty of loving sleep for comfort, I've found myself laying down just to get away from something that I don't want to deal with. I'll be working on that !!! 20 minute power naps are great even if you don't sleep it's 20 minutes you can take to regroup and rejuvinate (pray).
Have a great day ladies i'm off and running...
ps. heather my husband also works at night and doesn't get home till about 11:00 don't give up your time together.Even if it's just to pray together It's just a season :)I will be praying for you.

So many truths I found relevant to my life in the reading for today!

The older I get, the less (and more challenging) sleep I get. Lately, I've been waking up feeling so tired. I am dieting and changed my eating (carbs equal anesthesia for me). I should actually have more energy, which I did have for the first few days. I've been anxious because I'm only 3 weeks into a new, fun, but challenging job. I've felt weary when I get up, and also in the late afternoon, when I get home from work. 20 minute naps turn into 1 or 2 hours, and then I can't sleep at night.

I've stopped the napping, but doggone it, I'm still tired. We are going away for the weekend, just the hubby and me, so perhaps that will help me feel renewed.

I never knew that there was a comparison to the ant in the Bible! It is very sage advice (isn't the Bible just so full of sage advice???). I loved that passage! Will definitely put it up on the fridge to remind me.

My struggle has been giving my all at this new job, only to come home and collapse without doing what I need to at home. I desperately need balance, especially when it comes to my family. I need to work as hard for them as I do for my new employer. I guess I feel as if I need to impress my employer - but who really deserves it more?

I pray that I can find the balance that God wants me to have in all of the areas of my life.

I love how the Lord gently repeats messages and leaves patterns for me to follow, so I know it's Him. A few weeks ago, our pastor preached about the ant. I loved it and gained great focus from the message - - and yet, here it comes again in today's lesson! It's so great, because I feel the Lord at my side. He wants my diligence. He doesn't want me to lose momentum, even though my schedule is bursting at the seams. What a wonderful God we serve!

I love Psalm 118:24 "This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it." We used to have a poster in our kitchen, when I was growing up, it had a baby sitting in a highchair with a bowl of spaghetti over her head and a mess all over. Under the picture was Psalm 118:24. Whenever my life gets crazy with kids going every which way (which happens often at my house) I remember this verse and give thanks to God for the crazy moments in my life.... "THIS IS THE DAY THAT THE LORD HAS MADE...."

May the Lord be with you all today!

Ladies,For whoever reads this, a wonderful man has passed away hopefully to be with the Lord.
His name was Randy Pausch.
His story is told in his book called "the last lecture" When Hearing the news I couldn't help but think that this was an amazing book to recommend. If your not a reader you can go on the internet and actually hear him give the last lecture. My prayers go out to his wife and their three children. The book is not about his battle with cancer but about how we can live our lives. I give it an a+.

Because I'm a morning person, I have never given much thought to a morning "routine," compared to an evening routine, but today I changed my thinking. I would love to wake up without an alarm to have TAG.

As I get older, though, not every morning is as easy as others. Sometimes, I sleep through the night, but for the past few years, I've started waking several times. This can make mornings a challenging experience! My brain is saying "GO!" but my body is asking, "What in the world are you doing?!" I'm definitely not feeling the "rise and shine!"

May God bless all of us with uninterrupted, restful sleep!

Hi Ladies! I have a question that's been burning at the tip of my tongue...does Donna mean starting EVERY day at the same time? For me, I stay out late on some weekend nights, which means getting 8 hours of sleep equals a later wake up time (and to be honest, I moan and groan if my bladder wakes me up 4AM if I don't have to go to work). Any thoughts?

Also, for those of you who LOVE naps like me...I know that exercising in the day helps you to stay away from naps AND helps you get a more restful sleep. =) YAY for exercise!!! (as they all moan and groan...haha)

Hey Missy,

I wake up consistency at the same time most every morning except Saturday and Sunday. Saturday is my day to sleep in and Sunday we just get up pretty much in time to read the paper, eat breakfast and get ready for church.

As a rule, I only do my QT or TAG Monday through Friday, but with this study I have been doing it 7 days a week (still allowing myself to sleep in on Sat).

I have found, for me, in order to have a good TAG, consistency is key, but if you are able to have your TAG at a different time each day and that works for you, fly at it.

Donna did say early on in the study (not sure where) that we will probably not be able to apply all aspects of this study (Nola paraphrased), so I don't think we need to take every thing she says as unwritten law (or in this case (written law) Make it work for you.

I've been struggling to get up ever morning and cannot seem to get enough sleep. My challenge is to figure out just how to stop hitting the snooze button. I think I just have too much on my mind and I tend to tire myself out. Maybe I should pray on it to look to God this week.
