Day 38

Reducing our debt!! I know this can seem like a mute subject, especially if our income comes nowhere near meeting our output. I’m sure at this point there may be a couple of you who want to throw this book into some black hole and forget you ever picked it up, but since you spent hard earned money on it, how financially responsible would that be? So hang in there!! Help is on the way! I cheated and looked ahead, in a couple of weeks (week 8 to be exact) she will be giving us pointing on how to make some income.

I love what Connie had to say yesterday ~

“Even though finances are a stressful part of our lives, God has really taught us to trust in Him for His provision. We always have what need, like food, water, clothing, and a roof over our heads. God has been so good to us!”

Yes, God is good to us!!!!!

Today’ s Tip ~

Quicken, Online!

I went online yesterday to check out Quicken and found that they have 60 day free trial and then it’s only $2.99 a month after that!! So I set up an account, way tooooooo cool. Check it out!!

This is a good topic because in a couple of months, I am going to have to start paying back my $17,000 in student loans in addition to some small credit card debt. I love the idea of the snowball effect. It makes so much sense. That is what we will be working on for the next couple years... being debt free! But I know it is going to be difficult. I would love it if you ladies would keep us in your prayers! I will also be praying for everyone else in this group who is struggling with debt!

Sarah,
I've been praying for your previous prayer request daily -- that God would help you to be positive when those around you are negative. I hope He has been giving you strength in that area. I'll definitely put this request on my prayer list. But know that if we are obedient to Him this prayer will be answered because it is His will for our lives -- to be indebted to no one but Him.

Blessings,
Mary

Debt is so much part of life today that we don't give it as much thought as we should. Credit card debt is especially difficult to manage, especially in light of all of the advertising in the media and in the mail. The enemy is especially devious in this area of temptation. It takes work to be vigilant with our thought life when it comes to purchases, loans, and credit cards.
