Boy, talk about conviction! I am your classic “out-of-balance-gotta- lose-10-pound” gal! I’m better now than I used to be, but I will admit that at times I have been border line obsessive about my last 10 pounds .
About 8 years ago I got down to size 2/4 and weighed 113 pounds. It was great for the 2 days that lasted, LOL, but it was unrealistic for me to maintain. Now 8 years later, I hover around 135 and wear a size 10 comfortably. I would love to be a 120 and wear a size 6 but at age 50 that might be a bit hard to acquire (my hormones are running amuck!). So that brings me to “Today’s Tip”~
Today’s Tip~
Be Happy, Be Healthy!
Learn to love yourself!! I’m not saying give up the fight, if you need to lose a few pounds, by all means go for it, but learn to love yourself! It was a real eye opener (and hence convicting) when she said “the devil is always looking for someone to devour, and his target is the person who is out of balance”.
The simple truth of the matter is I have thighs!!! I mean I have enough thighs to share with about 3 people, but I learning to live with and accept the fact that that is the way God made me. Don’t get me wrong, acceptance does not give me license to eat whatever I want and not exercise, but I also know I will probably never see 113 again and I learning to be soooo OK with that!!!

As someone who is learning all about one's body becoming a women, I completely understand about accepting and being happy with your body. I won't say that it means that I can do with it what ever I want, but I can be happy about by taking care of it and not adding any unnessary pounds. The balence for me is always to be happy but not to justify that happiness to allow myself to do or eat everything that I please. One hard truth, its a lot harder now to lose just 5 pounds then when I was 18. Stress use to be an automatic wieght loss of 5 pounds, now its revenge of the body and it adds a couple of pounds.
I really liked what donna had to say about findind you ideal weight. I started weight watchers and I am hoping to lose 15 pounds. I know for myself that the weight I would be then is what is good for me. I love weight watchers because it is something that you can learn to live with and not just a diet. I go to meetings on saturday mornings if anyone wants to join me! :)
Although, the one thing that I was unsure about was the size thing. I don't think its always possible to decide on one size. When I shop at New York and Company, their clothes run a big larger and so I have to buy a smaller size, however at express, the clothes are a little smaller and I have to buy a bigger size. I have 2 different sizes but both fit. So I think I am going to just focus on an ideal weight instead of an ideal size.
Sounds like a healthy attitude Heather!!!
I lost the bulk of weigh on WW (used to weigh 165, YIKES! that's a lot for my 5'4" body).
Although I do have to ask Sarah, where exactly are you planning on losing 15 pounds from?
Believe it or not, Nola, I have gained 10 pounds since the wedding! YIKES! haha.Fortunately for me, I'm tall so its not as noticable.... but wherever I gained it since june......... thats where I want to lose it! LOL. ;)
Well, you hide it well!!!
Sarah, you don't look like you need to lose 15 pounds but I understand that you see it differently than someone else. I'm trying to lose 20 and its a lot harder than I thought. Is weight watchers expensive?
Heather,
Weight watchers isn't too expensive. There are several payment options. You can pay $12 each week (which is the most expensive one), but I have the monthly pass which is $39 a month and you get access to all of their online recipes and stuff. Its the best! :)
Like I said, I lost the majority of my weight (45 pounds) doing WW. It's a great program. You can also do it on-line for less than attending the meetings!
Don't know where yo are gonna lose 20 pounds from Heather!!!!
Trust me Nola, weight can go to places that I didn't even know it could. :0)
