Hi Girls,
I'm back!! We had a wonderful relaxing weekend, but now it is back to the grind! Today we kick off week 10 and I gotta tell ya I was smiling when I read the part in today lesson about Dr Laura's book, "The Care and Feeding of Husbands". I know that you , Sarah are reading this book and it gives my heart a tickle to see a young bride striving to get to know her and learn how to take care of your husband better. I have yet to read the book, but I hear it's good one.
If I were to pick one thing off of Donna's list that I thought was a top priority for men to receive, I would have to pick respect! Respect your guy, girls!!! Respect his job, his hobbies, his looks and so on. A little respect goes a long way.
At any rate, I can tell you after 30 years of marriage I have done some things right and a whole lots things wrong, but I am beyond blessed to be married to wonderful guy.
Today's Tip ~
Get The Book!
As I mentioned, I have yet to read Dr. Laura's book, but I think I will get it and read it! You know the old saying that "life does not come with a how-to manual", well it does come with some really good reads that can help us become better people, wives and mothers. So read!!!

I was SO excited when she mentioned Dr. Laura's book! It is so good! I finished reading "the Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands" and I have moved on to "The Proper Care and Feeding of Marriage" and I highly reccomend both of them! :)
hey everyone,
i agree with sarah. i have read dr. laura's book and it is absolutely fantastic and right on. i think every newlywed and oldywed should read this book. hey sarah let me know what you think of the care and feeding of a marriage, in fact, if you don't mind i would love to borrow ( i promise to take care of it) it when your done, if that's okay with you.
take care,
missy bailey
p.s. you ought to listen to her show sometime, dr. laura's that is, she's a kick in the pants on speaking her mind!!!!!!! but what's so funny is that she is usually right on biblically.
I too have Dr. Laura's "husbands" book available if someone wants to borrow it. Good, solid advice. I'd like to read her "marriage" one next. We can all still learn something after 28 years of marriage!
The key, I believe, is to be other-centered. It works in my relationship with my kids, as well as with my hubby. He surprised me by making dinner tonight - that was so helpful with the night that I've had. There isn't a bouquet of flowers big enough to take the place of some help around the house!
Good morning Ladies,
Vera I'd love to borrow that book if you still have it!
Thank you,
Kathleen
Sure, Kathleen, I'll try to have it with me on Sunday. We go to 2nd service, how about you?
Hi Vera,
We too go to second service... however, every third Sunday my hubby and I work in the nursery during 1st service... so this week we won't be there for 2nd service... maybe I can pick it up from you...
Please email me at Kathleen@sarahsslippers.com and we can work it out.
Thank you soooo much!
Kathleen
I'll be honest, I won't read any of Dr. Laura's books because of a past incident that left a very bad taste in my mouth.
