Direct Marketing, now this is something that I have had personal experience in. As I mentioned yesterday, I have sold a number things and have had a few home-based businesses. Two of those ventures were direct marketing. One was rubber stamps and the other was a line of clothing. I jumped into both of them because I wanted to get some of the product for myself, so imagine my delight when I started to actually make money beside being able to dress nicer and feed my rubber stamp obsession.
The clothing one didn’t last long, but the rubber stamp one prove to be rather lucrative, especially once I got some gals under me.
Today’s Tip~
Find Something You Like!
Find and sell a product that you would like. All of these companies give you a starter kit, which you get to keep for yourself and they all offer a substantial discount on their product line so find something that you would use yourself. If you like to cook then “Pampered Chef” may be your niche. If you like make-up then try “Mary Kay”, if jewelry is your thing look into “Cookie Lee”. It much easier to sell a product that you would use or believe in.

My sister-in-law, who lives in New York, has a direct marketing business. I can't remember the name of the company, but they sell beautiful home decor products. She does very well financially for her family. However, the business is very time-consuming and is almost like a job outside of the home.

Hello ladies,
i think any business inside or outside the home can be time consuming. i think the point is that a home based business you are the boss and can work as little or as much as you want based on your goals financially. i have to admit, mary-kay and the girly type business is definitely not me, but i wouldn't mind finding something i could do for an hour in the evenings so i think i will definetly check out some things in the future. i did work from my home for 3 years as a vendor rep for cable tv products which is what i sold at distribor level for 14 years which i then got laid off. i have to admit it did take a lot of self discipline, i kept ending up in the swimming pool (not sure how that happened! i didn't sell much some days, but i did have a nice tan by the end of summer! LOL) any ways, i have heard of a lot of young business women that convert to doing business from their home upon having children and doing it quite well. anyway gotta get some shut eye. God Bless ya all!!!
lots of love

I wish I could sell things like Avon and Mary Kay but truth be told is that I just don't have the heart to sell something like these. The only thing I know how to market is writing and the ability to orginize homes/offices/etc. One I find it not only fun..(yes I'm a nerd like that) but I feel like I get to help others out. I just don't know how to really market it and how to get this side of my freelance business going to attract clients. Providing the abiltiy to help clean or orginize someone else's space is great for me as I can arrange to do it afterwork or on the weekends. Anyone need my services? LOL
