OOPS! Missed another day, sorry!! Things are a bit busy these days and although I have read the lesson each day, I seem to be having trouble getting on the blog. I will do better! But I'm here today and I thought in light of today's lesson, it would be fun to share our own "family traditions". Here's one our family favorites, goofy, but well loved!
Every time it rains, we have waffles for dinner!! Mind you, we haven't done this as much in recent years with the lack of rain, but you can be sure to get a nice fluffy waffle at our house if there is even the hint of rain. In fact the first time our daughter-in-law, Jamie ever ate dinner with us, it was raining. I figure no time like the present to introduce her to our weirdness so we went right ahead and served waffles. If made for a fun memory that she talks about to this day (10 years later). Once they got married Ron and I gave them a waffle maker so they could continue the "tradition".
Today's Tip ~
Make a Memory!!
I am big on this!! Life is way too short not to have fun so start making memories and build tradition! It can be simple or elaborate, just make sure to make it a "we always".
Looking forward to hearing about your "We Always"!

On Christmas Eve morning, my mom and I would always make cinnamon rolls.... we would make hundreds of them and then go deliver them to family and friends! that was always my favorite tradition! And I can't wait to start my own with my family! Nola, I love the waffles on a rainy day tradition! I'm sure if I started doing that, Gordon would LOVE it! :)
And I love the cinnamon roll one. How close of a friend do you have to be to be a recipient? LOL!
We always prepare a favorite Korean dish called Mondu (pot stickers) for luncheons, potlucks, or just as a friendly thank you gift. I always get excited when my mother makes them as she puts so much love when she prepares them. You know you've made it on the good list when you get a batch made just for you. My grandma made, my mom makes them, I can make them with supervision, and I plan to pass the making of them on to my children for those special occasions.
Hi Ladies,
I've been absent (minded) for a few weeks... but I'm back now... and I love this tradition suggestion that she gives!
We always have a family meeting on Thursday nights to recap our week and talk about how everyone is doing... we all go around and talk about one nice thing we saw someone else doing... it's great to hear the kids mention nice things about each other! And they love the fact that they get their allowance ...
Have a great day!
Kathleen
I think the nicest tradition is the one I heard of again today, where the family prays together almost every night. That is something that I aspire to, and we oftentimes go overboard on grace at meals because there are other things we want to mention. How much better it would be to have an actual prayer time where everyone prays together! I'm sure it would bring us even closer as a family.
