Day 58

The purging continues!! I have moved 4 times in the past 6 years so I have become the Queen of Purging!!! So I love everything about today's lesson. I grew up in a home with two packrats for parents. I love them dearly, but once I got married I learned you really could throw "it" away, even if you think you might be able to use it "someday"!!

Today's Tip~

Take 15 Minutes a Day!

Take 15 minutes a day and pick an area (preferably in one of your hotspot rooms) and start purging (set your timer). Once your time is up, stop and go back to it tomorrow!! If you do just 15 minutes each day by month's end you will have your hotspot put out.

It truly is amazing what you can get done in a short time frame! I love that Carolyn shared that she got her whole pantry done in 20 minutes!!

Happy Purging!

okay ladies,

i have been at work or asleep or hangin out with "high school" group so today you get my blogging for two lessons. sorry!!! anyway i have 13 "hot zones" every room in my house is a "hot zone" and as i said before my husband is the biggest packrat in the whole wide world, gotta love em' anyway. i peaked at tomorows lesson and laughed histerically, "a clean house" maybe in my dreams!!!!! so when i get done laughing i must admit she does have some good ideas and may try to use my timer for more than napping one of these days, like after taxes. anyway wish me luck or should i say "prayers" since i don't believe in luck. still enjoying the study!!!!!

love ya all,

missy

p.s. Will the garbage company give you more than 1 bin? i would call them but i owe them money too!!!! LOL

You just crack me up Missy!!!

Don't be too afraid of tomorrow lesson (I peaked too). It's more about keeping your house healthy, than clean. Well, the two go hand in hand so I guess that doesn't really help. Guess you will just have to wait until tomorrow for that to make sense!!

Love you Missy B!

I have a hard time with clutter. I really don't mind if the house is dusty or the floors need to be swept, but clutter is a different story.

And I don't know why, but our family tends to accumulate stuff. It's not new stuff either, just items being moved around from one room to another! Things don't get put back, etc.

Setting a timer can really help, but sometimes I don't want to stop when the bell rings!

My hotspot is my teenagers bedroom.... it seems to come out in to the rest of the house. where does it all come from? no wonder she is tired all of the time it must take a lot of energy finding all of this stuff. She is a bit OCD althougth she doesn't collect used pencils without erasers any longer she does collect many other things UGH!!!

I have to admit that I have been very bad at keeping these things to a minimum lately but that is becuase I am busy working on remodeling the house, keeping the surface areas clean and doing the laundry, oh yeah church on Sunday..... I have said that I won't work for seven days for much longer but much longer doesn't seem to have an end date yet.

I live in a tiny, one bedroom apartment with a husband who's motto is "when in doubt, throw it out". He throws away everything. I know that one day when we have more space to store stuff, these lessons will come in very handy, but for now, I don't have much to clean. I did start using the timer suggestion, but I can clean our whole house in 10 minutes!! haha :)Oh the joys of only living in 750 square feet.

I love to purge, but maybe its because I've moved like 13 times in my life that I just don't want to pack and take it with me. For the most part I like everything to have a place, but when I cannot figure it out right away, I put it in the junk drawer. Which for me just means that it has to be small to fit in (there by getting rid of any bulky items not needed) and I must go back to the drawer at least once a month to figure out where things go. If I cannot figure it out, then at the end of the month its got to go.
