Day 81

First off, my apologies girls, this Friday is our retreat and I have been slammed with last minute details!! Organization, anti-procrastination and time management have always been a challenge for me. I have been reading everyday though and have reaped some good gems out of this week's study.

Today's lesson on foolishness has hit close to home. We once co-signed for a loan and it came back to bite us in the end!! The good news is we learned at a young age in our married lives not to do that again. We have been asked many times to help bail a friend out here or a family member there and after much prayer and some thought we either do or we don't, but our mindset these days is never to give it unless we don't need it back. We always set up a payment plan and have been fortunate with re-payment, but we never give unless we can live without the funds being returned.

I whole heartly agree with you Nola. I've learned at an early age about staying within your limits. Lately, I've seen this study work in my choices that I make each day. Thanks to Sarah for her suggestion early on about being watching what we watch on television, I was able to completely not watch Desperate Housewives when it came back on. While the temptation was there, I was able to resist and did something else instead. It was such a great feeling to know that I'm being wiser in what I watch.

YAY for not watching Desperate Housewives! haha. Just kidding. I'm so glad that this study is working for the good of those who love God. In regard to today's study, Aaron and I have learned that co-signing is a no-no from others' past experiences. My parents even offered to co-sign us for a house last year (when we totally weren't ready) and we respectfully declined b/c we KNEW not to put people in that position from other's mistakes (sorry all of you who have experienced that mistake). My parents, however, were like..."WHAT!??! Why in the world not?!" It was very interesting. Anyway, hope everyone is well and for those going on retreat...Wahoo!!! Please don't forget to pray for the event.

PS. Vera...awesome new pic! =)
